Phase 2 Starts: Mastering the Left Shift Key

Welcome to Phase 2: The Accelerator! Up until now, you have been typing entirely in lowercase. It is time to learn the most crucial rule of professional touch typing: The Cross-Hand Shift Rule.

The Golden Rule of Capitals: If the letter you need to capitalize is pressed by your RIGHT hand (like J, M, P), you MUST hold the Shift key with your LEFT pinky. Never use the Caps Lock key for a single letter!

🖐️ How to Execute the Move

1. Keep your fingers anchored on the ASDF JKL; home row.
2. When you see a word like "John", stretch your Left Pinky down to hold the Left Shift key.
3. Press the letter 'J' with your right index finger.
4. Instantly release the Shift key and let your left pinky return to 'A'.
5. Continue typing the rest of the word.
